BOLO TIE TIPS
REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Look for seam on tips or ferrals, and position them on cord to be on the back side, out of view.

  1. Obtain "5 Minute Epoxy" from Hobby Shop, or Hardware Store.
  2. If old cord, remove tips, and clean for new cord.
  3. If new cord, cut knot off both ends. Check to make sure that the ends of the cord will fit into each tip.

    Note: On 6 ply or 8 ply cords you may have to unbraid the last 3/8" to 3/4"of the cord to be able to fit into the tip. Cut the ends of with a single edge razor blade and unbraid. Do NOT apply epoxy yet, bunch the braid ends together and insert into the tip. Remove the cord from the tip when your ready to epoxy, and then reinsert into the tip.

  4. Obtain a wooden tooth pick for applying the epoxy, and a small piece of wood for bending the tip top points into the cord..
  5. Mix epoxy. Be ready, it will set in 5 minutes.
  6. Using the wooden tooth pick, coat the inside wall of the bolo tips with the epoxy. Just the middle section of the tip.
  7. Insert the end of the bolo cord into new tip, as far as possible.
  8. Bend the Top Points of the new bolo tip into the bolo cord.
    Use your thumb or a small piece of wood for bending the points.
  9. Repeat step 5, 6, and 7 for second bolo tip.
  10. Hang tie up for 1 hour before using.
BOLO FERRALS INSTRUCTIONS
  1. For spicing, use the tip instructions above.
  2. For cord decoration, position on cord and bend tips into cord, do NOT epoxy.
